For many people, a bedroom isn't simply a place to sleep. It's a private area where you can indulge in your creative side to produce the perfect space in which to relax, unwind, and get a good night's rest.
With this in mind, it's essential that you choose the right bedroom furniture to create the atmosphere and ambience you desire. And that includes selecting a dressing table to suit your design and decor, which is where we can help with our exciting range of modern dressing tables.
Dressing tables have practical as well as aesthetic value as they offer storage space for your make-up and beauty essentials, but they also come in a wide variety of styles, so there's no need to compromise on your design for the sake of space.
Sometimes referred to as a vanity table, the importance of this piece of furniture is easy to overlook: it's the place where we prepare ourselves, gain confidence, and create the image we want to present to the world. So, it makes sense to find one that you love and which complements your decor.
It's worth taking your time when choosing a dressing table. After all, this is going to be a permanent feature in your bedroom for several years to come, so it has to be something you're happy to look at every day.
This factor is important to us, which is why we go the extra mile to help you find one that's perfect for you.
We offer an extensive range of stunning dressing tables to suit all tastes and budgets, including contemporary styles with clean lines and pleasing designs.
Here are some examples of what you'll find:

If you're aiming to create a contemporary impression in your bedroom decor with a stylish, classic feel, look no further than our selection of dressing tables with a mirrored finish.
The mirrors reflect the colours of your walls and soft furnishing, magnifying the effect and bouncing light around the room. This is an excellent choice for those who enjoy a sense of opulence in their bedrooms.
Our stunningly elegant mirrored dressing tables add an element of chic to your room, either with plain mirror panels covering the entire piece, or mirrored tiles added as a detail to a silver or white unit. Some of our mirrored dressing tables are ornamented with Moroccan-style designs to introduce an opulent, exotic ambience.
If you prefer, you can opt for a smoked mirror unit with black drawers to foster a sense of mystique and charisma.
Crystal handles add a final touch of class, and you can create an even more glamorous look by purchasing a matching stool and a mirror to stand on top.
Choose from three, five or even seven drawers, depending on how much space you require. You'll have ample room to store those accessories that can often become untidy; hair products, makeup, beauty essentials, jewellery, and so on.
Of course, if you want to display some of your treasured items of jewellery or luxurious eau-de-toilette bottle, there's space enough on the top of the unit to do so!
The dimensions for these beautiful pieces range from 119 x 84.5 x 40 cm to 122 x 78.7 x 51 cm.
The seven-drawer dressing table weighs around 68 kg, giving an idea of how substantial a piece of furniture it is!
If minimalism is your thing, we have a dressing table that's perfect for your uncluttered space!
We stock pure white high-gloss MDF units with a large single drawer, and cream or charcoal grey in a similar style.
The drawer is set in the centre of the table and has no handle, providing smart, clean lines across the unit to add to its elegant simplicity.
The dimensions for these dressing tables are width 100 x depth 46.7 x height 76 cm and some assembly is required.
Alternatively, how about a pine, walnut, black, or white dressing table with a large single drawer and a matching stool? These very reasonably priced units come with a generous-sized mirror, and the stool fits neatly into the body of the dressing table to keep things tidy. The dimensions are: height 130 x width 64 x depth 39 cm.
Of course, it's entirely your choice whether to include one or not, but a mirror often completes a dressing table. When large enough, they give the illusion of space, making your bedroom feel bigger. They reflect light around the room, lending a sense of airiness and openness.
And they are extremely useful as you go through your daily preparations, or maybe for getting ready for that special occasion.
The best thing is that you don't have to stick to something practical or plain to achieve this. Our collection of bedroom essentials allows you to add panache, to find something to match your ideal design. Be sure to check out our curated selection of mirrors on our online store that will complement your new dressing table to perfection.
Rather than buy them separately, why not purchase the complete set in one go?
We stock several stylish modern dressing table sets that include matching seats and square or rectangular mirrors, so you know that they will complement each other perfectly.
You can decide whether you want a dressing table with a fixed mirror or one that can be angled. You can choose to have a free-standing mirror or one that's incorporated into the unit.
Our biggest dressing table with mirror is available in oak or white, and the total unit measures 175.5 cm in height.
Some examples even include a mirror built into the top that folds up and down; this doubles as a lid for the extra-large storage space within the unit! This solid wood unit is a great choice for storing jewellery, makeup, hair products etc. out of sight and it comes with a matching stool.
You can choose from black, white, pine and walnut and the dimensions are width 100 x height 72 x depth 46 cm.
Other dressing tables have an upright built-in mirror and these come in a range of styles and sizes.
If you simply want a practical piece of furniture that looks great and performs a function, we've got that covered too. These items are very affordable and they have charm and appeal, which is always an attractive combination.
Our range includes pieces with three very generous drawers stacked vertically to one side, plenty of leg space, and ample room on top for your accessories as well as a mirror. Simple home assembly is required for these units, and you're bound to be pleased with the results. Dimensions - width 93 x height 79 x depth 38 cm.
You can simplify things even further with an all-in-one unit that has a large mirror built into the raised backboard. These highly-practical units have two open shelves as well as a door with an internal shelf. There's also a handy ledge attached to the backboard! The dimensions for these units are - height 180 x width 50 x depth 39 cm (some assembly will be required).

You can go small, with a black Nordic style dressing table that has characteristic tapered legs (dimensions - width 110 x depth 40 x height 80 cm) or go large with the opulent seven-drawer mirrored model mentioned above (dimensions - width 120 x depth 44 x height 85 cm).
Of course, you could select a simple dressing table and express your creativity through what you put on top of it, such as lamps, ornaments, vases, dried flowers, sculptures, etc. It's up to you!
Why not add a touch of glamour by getting a mirror for your dressing table with lights built-in? You can find these exciting products sold separately in the lighting section of our online store.
Although some of the dressing tables in our collection don't come with a stool, most are part of a range of matching furniture that allows you to decide whether to add a stool or a chair or not.
Using a stool is a good idea from a practical perspective as well as for your comfort: you'll spend less time hogging the bathroom and you'll be able to sit down while getting ready!
Our stools come in different styles to suit all interiors, some with a plain wood surface, and others with an upholstered cushion. It all depends on your sense of style, what look you are trying to achieve, and how long you intend to spend at the table.
We also offer a dressing table with stool, but whatever your preference, we are here to guide you.
In the past, dressing tables were only used by people that were higher up on the social scale. These were members of society who didn't need to work and were very well off; looking good was something to which they devoted a lot of time and money!
These days, you don't have to be a member of high society to own a piece of furniture like this. Our modern dressing table collection is sure to have a style and a price to suit your taste and budget, and we can help you make a good choice. This means that you never have to compromise on quality to find an affordable piece of furniture.
The most important factor is to ensure you have enough space in your bedroom or dressing area. And if the dressing table has a stool, you need to make sure there's enough room for you to sit there comfortably.
Obviously, it's best not to choose a large dressing table if your room is on the smaller side. The good news is that all our dressing tables are exquisitely made and look beautiful, whatever their size. Each one slots perfectly into its place, complementing and matching your decor.
One of our most elegant dressing tables is a two-drawer unit that fits snugly into small spaces. It has a light-oak top and an appealing dark-grey body and tapered legs. The entire unit is only 72 cm in width, 40 cm deep and 80 cm high, making it perfect for smaller rooms.
The next thing is to decide whether you want a practical piece or a more ornate dressing table set. Thankfully, our large selection means you don't have to choose function over form!
Do you tend to have a lot of clutter in your bedroom? Many of the dressing tables in our shop have more than enough room for all your accessories.
You can choose a unit with a single large drawer, or go for one that has two, three, five, or even seven drawers!
Rather than have all that stuff sitting around loose, you can contain it all within one of our beautiful dressing tables.
Studies have proved that cluttered, messy bedrooms affect our mental health and sleep patterns, contributing to an increase in anxiety. Buying a new dressing table with storage could be good for you!
The position of your table matters greatly, especially when mirrors are involved; you need to avoid glare from lighting within the room or sunlight from outside. Even so, be sure to make use of any natural or artificial light where possible, but angle mirrors for the best effect.
Here are a few ideas of where to locate your table:
1) By your bedside. This is a popular placement as the unit then doubles as a bedside cabinet and a great place to stand a lamp from our fantastic collection. All your paraphernalia is contained and within reach, and you have a convenient platform for when you're relaxing in bed, a place to put books, drinks, reading glasses, a smartphone, etc.
2) At the foot of the bed. An ideal position, if you have the space, as it allows for the free flow of movement around the room. However, there is a safety consideration as you will be unable to anchor the unit (see below). It also only works with specific items of furniture; a tall, narrow unit will look odd.
3) In front of the window. Natural light is excellent when applying make-up! However, it may not be practical to place your dressing table here. It depends on the height of the unit, and whether the mirror (if you choose to have one) is high enough to block light from entering. It may be better to have a free-standing mirror that can be placed to one side. You should also avoid placing your dressing table here if there is a radiator on the wall as it will stop heat from entering the room.
4) Between other items of furniture. This is a great option if you invest in matching furniture and there is enough clear space between them. Not only will this look cramped if the room is small and the furniture is crammed together against the walls, but it may also affect your psychology and cause stress or a sense of claustrophobia. Your bedroom is a place of sanctuary and rest, so be sure to plan the layout to reflect this.
Of course, you can situate the unit wherever you wish, and in some cases, you'll be restricted by the shape of the room and the positioning of doors and windows.
If you're fortunate to have a dressing room or large hallway or landing, then one of our contemporary dressing tables will look just as beautiful there as in your bedroom. Alternatively, you can use the dressing table as a console table elsewhere in your home, or purchase one of our excellent range of purpose-made console tables.
For your safety, it is highly recommended that you anchor your new dressing table securely to the wall. The fittings are sold separately, and you need to select the right type for the wall you are attaching it to. This is especially important if there are young children in the home, as they may pull the piece of furniture down on themselves if they happen to climb on it.
Feel free to browse our online shop to find your perfect dressing table. Our friendly staff are waiting to chat and will be happy to help with any queries or concerns, and will guide you through each step.
We can talk to you about colour preferences and dimensions, provide further expert advice on where to place your dressing table, or discuss other options, such as whether you need a dressing table with mirror attached or a free-standing option.
